As threats continue to evolve, so must our approach to safety. Isotec Security’s Emerging Threats webinar series brings together technology partners and industry experts to explore the latest advancements in threat detection and emergency response. Each session focuses on new security challenges, emerging technologies, and real-world strategies to help organizations strengthen protection and preparedness.

In our first session, “Are Non-Metallic Weapons Slipping Past Your Security?”, experts from Xonar joined us to examine the growing risks posed by non-metallic and composite weapons that can easily bypass traditional metal detectors. These emerging threats, ranging from 3D-printed firearms to ceramic blades, are increasingly being used in attempts to exploit security gaps across schools, workplaces, and transportation hubs. The discussion focused on how Xonar’s TruePort identifies concealed items using multi-spectral imaging and intelligent analytics, providing a higher level of protection where conventional systems fall short.

Our most recent session, “The Front Steps Are the New Front Lines”,  featured Omnilert, a pioneer in AI-powered visual gun detection. This innovative technology uses artificial intelligence to detect firearms in real time through video surveillance feeds, often before a shot is fired. Once a potential threat is identified, Omnilert’s automated response system can instantly notify security personnel, initiate lockdown protocols, and provide visual confirmation to first responders. During the webinar, Omnilert experts demonstrated how this technology helps organizations reduce response time and improve situational awareness during critical incidents.

Each session in Isotec’s Emerging Threats series delivers practical insights from leaders driving innovation in safety and security. The technologies highlighted are QATT-designated through the Department of Homeland Security, reflecting their compliance with rigorous federal standards for quality, effectiveness, and reliability in threat detection and emergency response.
