Job Description: 

As Manufacturing Team Lead, you will work with Production Management to assist with directing the activities of Production team members while working as a member of a leading-edge manufacturing team. The Team Lead reports directly to the Production Manager and will interface with other departments such as CAD, Purchasing, and Engineering. This challenging position requires effective teamwork, clear communication, initiative, good judgment, and an unwavering dedication to product quality.

 

Essential Responsibilities: 

  • Provide front-line leadership to the manufacturing team with direction from the Production Manager.
  • Assemble secure Weapon Detection, Access Control, and Asset Protection Systems/Portals.
  • Mentor and motivate team members ensuring individual and group productivity. 
  • Communicate on behalf of the team. Work with Production and Operations Management to ensure pertinent and timely 2-way communication.
  • Assist with monitoring safety. Correct and report unsafe conditions as appropriate.
  • Verify Quality and record results of team members’ work.
  • Conduct monthly shop floor audits.
  • Maintain and boost production efficiency. Initiate and implement continuous improvement projects, train team members, and work with the Production Manager to implement new processes. 
  • Perform hands-on production and assembly functions.
  • Assume responsibility for quality output as a participant in administering the company’s Quality Management System. 
  • Provide timely input and feedback to Production Readiness requirements.

Other Responsibilities:

  • Receive and apply constructive quality and process feedback.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Transport parts and assemblies within a light industrial environment.
  • Monitor part bins and request refills when required.
  • Utilize all Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as directed. Ensure others are wearing their PPE.
  • Troubleshoot and report on-going product difficulties.
  • Receive and route occasional deliveries.
  • Other duties as assigned

Position Requirements:

  • Experience in some, but preferably all, of the following trades:
  • Mechanical Assembly including cutting, sanding, and building (Required)
  • Electronic Assembly, Electronic Troubleshooting (Preferred)
  • Reading CAD Drawings and schematics (Required)
  • 2D Milling Machine Operation (Preferred)
  • Proven leadership, verbal communications, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to make effective decisions expediently while maintaining quality standards

There is a 60-day evaluation period at which point a pay increase is possible based on performance. After this 60-day evaluation period, the candidate will accrue Paid Time Off and receive benefits including medical and dental insurance, 2 weeks PTO in the first year, and 401k.  Health benefits are 70% covered by the company during non-profitable quarters and 100% covered during profitable quarters after the 60-day evaluation period. Job Description:

 

Work in a safe and efficient manner to produce products and components by assembling parts, wiring harnesses, and subassemblies of electronic equipment using schematics and wiring diagrams.

Wiring, occasional soldering, routing wires through security portals. IP and networking knowledge is a plus.

We are looking for someone that also wants to learn new skills as we are big believers in cross-training. As such, you will be asked to help in areas other than electronics. Some of the tasks you may be assigned are as follows:

 

  • Sanding aluminum tube.
  • Cutting aluminum using a CNC bandsaw.
  • Using power hand tools to assemble mechanical assemblies.
  • Tear down and crating of portals (the portals are fairly heavy).
  • Manually lifting material off and onto pallets/carts.
  • Participating in continuous improvement activities.
  • Preparing required paperwork.

Must meet the following physical requirements:

 

  • Able to stand, sit, bend, crawl, reach, and kneel for an entire shift.
  • Climb ladders up to 14 feet high.
  • Lift/carry up to 50# on your own and up to 150# with help.
  • Very good manual dexterity and eye/ hand coordination.

Experience Needed:

 

  • Electronic assembly and troubleshooting.
  • Knowledgeable of multi-meter functions.
  • Light Soldering, wiring, and crimping experience.
  • Basic understanding of the functionality of electronic components such as relays, switches, LEDs, and low voltage.
